Jesus Christ fulfilled the Sabbath Day
When I first came to Church of God I learned about the Sabbath day. After a while I started to hear that it was a jewish thing or the Jesus Christ abolished so me too was not going to keep it anymore because nobody else kept it. I brought the Church of God this questions and thanks to Father God and Mother God I was able to see an answer through the bible and not some made up story.
Mt 5:19 'Do not think I have come to abolish the law or the prophets (The Old Testament), I have not come to abolished them but to fulfill them.
Concerning the Law Jesus Christ said he never abolished it but he only came to fulfill it. If he had to come fulfill it, this implies it was not fulfilled before. Then, how did he fulfill this prophecy?
Heb 7:12 "For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a changed of the law.
The Law was actually never abolished, Jesus Christ came to make it perfect so that His people may received God's blessing (Heb 7:11). How was then the law changed? Actually, within the law you find the day of worship which is the Sabbath. The key to understand here is that IT WAS NEVER ABOLISHED, BUT JESUS CHRIST CAME TO FULFILL IT in order for us to be able to keep it. This means that the Sabbath day was never abolished, however, the way to worship in the Sabbath day changed so much. Let's understand first how was the Sabbath day kept in the Old Testament in order to understand the way of worship in the new testament.
Please continue to stay in touch with us and this post, so that you may see the reality of the law and how to keep it to received God's blessings. God bless you!
