As you read in our previous post, Christ actually came to fulfill the law no abolish it (Mt 5:17). Then how was the Sabbath day kept in the Old Testament that Jesus Christ had to come and make it perfect in the order of Melchizedek? Let us understand this through the bible.
Jehovah God commanded the Sabbath to be kept Holy because in this way they would have a sign with the Creator God
Ex 31:13 "'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come.."
However, if one was to desacrate the Sabbath day by working on that day or doing anything else they would be put to death (Ex 31:14-15). It's almost impossible to keep the Sabbath day this way. Someone was actually stoned to death for gathering wood on the Sabbath day because that action was known to be "working on the Sabbath day" (Num 15:32)
-OFFERINGS-
In addition, EVERY SABBATH DAY they had to bring 2 Lambs WITHOUT BLEMISH (Num 28:9) also 12 loaves of bread (LEV 24:5). If we had to keep the Sabbath day in this way it would be impossible because we would have to work in order to keep the Sabbath day ALONE! This is why Christ had to come in the order of Melchizedek to change the the way of worship on the Sabbath day so that His people may receive God's blessings (1Pt 2:9)
John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth"This is the way to worship according to Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Then, how did He keep the Sabbath day?
Lk 4:16 "on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue as was his custom. and he stood up to read. the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him."
Jesus Christ kept the Sabbath day in Spirit and truth NOT SUNDAY. He simply read the bible and taught the truth of God on the Sabbath day, this is THE TRUE WAY TO WORSHIP GOD. He did this to show we must also worships God in the same way to receive God's blessings. Jesus Christ did everything as an example for us (Jn 13:15)
Thanks to our Heavenly Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother New Jerusalem we now keep the Sabbath day the correct way to receive Their blessings on the Sabbath day. God bless you!
