Most so-called Christians insist that they can be saved if they just believe in Jesus. This implies they do not need to follow the teachings of the bible; all they need to do is believe. However, we can’t follow what is in a man’s heart because God is the One who shows us how to follow Him. What were the teachings of the Apostles 2,000 years ago in regards to just having faith in Christ?
James 2:14-26 [What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “God, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what god is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead... as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.]
It is faith with deeds that God wants us to have not just knowing the words of God (James 1:22-25). Actually we must follow the will of God because anyone can follow the words of God and yet not inherit the eternal Kingdom. Many people follow the words “Remember the Sabbath Day by keeping it holy” however, Sabbath is on Saturday, NOT Sunday which is a terrible mistake.
